With riveting loneliness, this small chapbook exudes resonating melancholy enchained by the past. Acknowledging the burden of sensitivity, themes include loss of the self, worth, sexual trauma and alcohol use, often pivoting around desperation and a yearning for release. The craving for intimacy is heavily burdened by the fatigue of emotional pain. Incapacitation, engulfment and internal contamination are further undermined by a sense of helplessness and quiet resignation. This is a striking, disturbing and talented expression of various depressive states.
