Before you name the blade after your trauma, remember what your Physics teacher said when you were in high school. Before you name the blade after your depression, remember the law of conservation of energy: can neither be created or destroyed but changed from one form to another. Before you name the blade something so heavy your mother wouldn’t be able to pronounce it, remember that you won’t be ending the pain but transferring it, remember that you won’t escape the void—you’ll only let it burst out of you to swallow everything you left behind. Before you name the blade on the pulse at your wrist, remember that someone somewhere loves you.
